Students at Tooborac Primary School will soon be able to enjoy improved expanded classrooms, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.
Minister for Education Natalie Hutchins today announced construction has commenced on the $1.1 million upgrade.
The upgrade includes extending the school's main classroom building (Block A), creating a new entry foyer and reception area.
Improving the building - which is home to the Learning Bases and Resource Intensive Learning Areas - will create better access for students and staff into the learning spaces, as well as provide more space for larger group activities, multi-media presentations and meetings.
The upgrade is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
In the past eight years, the Labor Government has invested $12.8 billion in building new schools and more than 1,850 school upgrades, creating around 17,400 jobs in construction and associated industries.
The Government is ahead of schedule in opening 100 new schools by 2026, with 75 new schools opening between 2019 and 2024 - ensuring every student can access a great local school and a quality education no matter where they live.
