On November 22, 2021, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Mr. Daniel Erikson, co-chaired the 19th annual U.S. – Argentina Bilateral Working Group with Argentina's Secretary of International Affairs for Defense, Mr. Francisco Cafiero.

Established in 1999, the Bilateral Working Group is a longstanding component of the U.S. – Argentina defense relationship in which senior DoD and MoD leaders discuss strategic-level defense issues and identify priorities for future cooperation.

DASD Erikson and Secretary Cafiero discussed: 1) Hemispheric Defense Cooperation, 2) Defense Policy, 3) Training, 4) Defense Modernization Plans, 5) Cyber Defense, 6) Women, Peace, and Security, and 7) Science and Technology.
