U.S.-ROK Business Travel, Visa Group Meet Again

Department of State

The bilateral U.S.-Republic of Korea Business Travel and Visa Working Group convened virtually on October 21. Co-chaired by Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Jonathan Fritz and Ambassador and Government Representative for Korean Nationals Overseas Protection and Consular Affairs Jung Kihong, the session underscored the importance both sides place on facilitating ROK investments into the United States while concurrently supporting the legitimate travel of Korean workers to facilitate those investments and train American workers. The United States and ROK reaffirmed their commitment to further collaboration in this regard.

The United States strongly supports investment that drives American reindustrialization, strengthens the U.S.-ROK alliance, and enhances our shared prosperity. The U.S. Government continues to work closely with its ally to advance the U.S.-ROK trade and investment partnership, including by processing visas for eligible ROK visitors to continue investing in America in compliance with U.S. laws. The reindustrialization of America delivers on President Trump's America First policy and provides great jobs for American workers.
