The United States is currently trying to contain Russia, China and Iran, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a ceremony to illegally annex four regions of Ukraine following a series of votes Kyiv and the West have denounced as illegal, sham referendums.
He added "the collective West, led by the United States is destroying states that do not agree to surrender their sovereignty". The leaders of some countries "voluntarily agree to become vassals," Putin said.
Accusing the United States of having "occupied Germany, Japan and South Korea", he said he US has provoked migration flows in the world and is imposing sanctions against its own partners.
