Today, Administrator Samantha Power met with Amy Pope, the Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Administrator Power and Director General Pope discussed shared priorities, including responding to global migration and displacement challenges. Administrator Power and Director General Pope discussed the humanitarian crises in Gaza and Sudan, and the range of shelter and other humanitarian needs of the millions of civilians impacted by the ongoing conflicts. Administrator Power and Director General Pope also explored opportunities for collaboration between USAID and IOM on supporting safe and legal migration pathways that enhance economic opportunities and development outcomes.
