Ute impounded in Kaarimba as Operation Scoreboard continues

Shepparton police members have impounded a ute in Kaarimba on Thursday night.

Police were initially called to check a suspicious vehicle near Pogues and Shepparton-Barmah Roads about 11.35pm.

The Holden ute was intercepted with three people on board.

Enquiries indicated that the driver, a 34-year-old Shepparton man, had a suspended licence.

He is expected to be summonsed to appear at Court.

The vehicle was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1525.

This impound forms part of Operation Scoreboard, a four-day statewide operation targeting high-risk driving behaviour on Victorian roads over the AFL Grand Final long weekend.

Five lives were lost over the Grand Final long weekend last year while there were more than 120 collisions which resulted in injury.

Operation Scoreboard runs until 11:59pm Sunday 26 September 2021.
