Vaccinations keep Tasmanians healthy and protect children

Ferguson must ensure weekend's events never happen again

Labor's preventative health policy to lift immunisation levels

Health Minister Michael Ferguson needs to today confirm that anti-vaccination groups will never be able to exhibit at Government funded expos.

Shadow Health Minister Sarah Lovell said it was disturbing to read reports of an anti-vax group displaying and handing out propaganda at the Tasmanian Wellness Expo.

"Vaccinations save lives," Ms Lovell said.

"Michael Ferguson needs to come out today and make this clear in the strongest possible terms.

"Michael Ferguson needs to tell Tasmanians that vaccinations don't just keep you and your family healthy, they protect other children in the community.

"The Liberal Government must tell Tasmanians how they will ensure the events of the weekend do not happen again."

Labor's policy will make the protection of children from disease and protection for staff who care for children a priority*.
