Vale Mr Martin Hollander

It is with sadness that the University acknowledges the passing of Western Sydney University graduate, Martin Hollander. Martin, his wife, Barbara, and their two children, Matthew and Berend, tragically lost their lives after the recent volcanic eruptions on New Zealand's White Island.

Martin graduated with a Master of Commerce (Honours) from Western Sydney University in 1999, and was an active supporter of the University. As a proud and highly engaged Western alumnus, he took part in several University alumni events and enjoyed sharing his knowledge and experience with students through our mentoring program.

Martin worked as an Investment Director at Wipunen Incrementum Capital, and his extensive professional experience made him a valuable contributor to the University's Industry Experts round table in 2015. In 2016, he was further recognised as a finalist in the University Alumni awards for his innovative work across financial, environmental, transport and energy industries in Australia, the United States, China and Canada.

We value the many contributions Martin made to the University community. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed.

Our thoughts are with Martin's family, friends and colleagues at this very sad time.
