Valuable Pre-Decimal Currency and Stamps Stolen - Moonah, TAS

Police are investigating the theft of a collection of valuable pre-decimal currency and stamps from a shed on Johnson Street in Moonah overnight on 13 August 2018, Tasmania Police say.

The collection was stolen from a locked cabinet and contained valuable pre-decimal coins and notes, around fifty albums containing stamps dating back to the early 1900’s, silver ingots stamped with vintage car impressions, two albums of matchbox covers and a Moscow Olympics coin and stamp collection.

Police are appealing to members of the public that may have information relating to burglary, location of the stolen property, or people acting suspiciously in the area of Johnston Street on Monday night to come forward.
