Vanderbilt Emergency Office Hosts Annual Tabletop Drill

Vanderbilt University

Vanderbilt University's Office of Emergency Management will host its annual tabletop exercise on Thursday, Dec. 4, reinforcing the university's ongoing commitment to campus safety and emergency preparedness.

This collaborative, scenario-based discussion allows participants to simulate their response to an emergency situation in a classroom setting. With representatives from various Vanderbilt departments and Nashville-area response agencies, the exercise brings together key stakeholders to analyze challenges, refine response protocols, and strengthen coordination in a low-stakes environment.

The exercise aims to:

  • Assess the university's readiness to respond to a campus incident
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing plans, policies, procedures, and training
  • Identify improvements to current materials and resources to enhance preparedness

Insights gained through this exercise will help improve campus safety and reinforce partnerships with local response agencies.

Questions about this exercise can be directed to the Office of Emergency Management.
