Vehicle Clamped Following Burnie Road Race, TAS

Police have clamped a Mount Hicks man’s car for 28 days following a road race in Burnie last night, Tasmania Police say.

Around 8.30pm, police observed a white Toyota Cressida sedan and a red Subaru hatchback racing east on the Bass Highway, in excess of 120km/h in the 70km/h zone.

The 22-year-old driver of the Toyota was intercepted by police and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

As part of the ongoing police investigation, the driver of the Subaru will be spoken to by police in the coming days.
