Police are seeking public assistance to help locate stolen Olympic and Commonwealth Games medals, Victoria Police say.
It is believed the medals were stolen during a burglary at a Barooga Drive address in Wonga Park sometime between 7 and 14 January.
A 22-year-old Ringwood East man was charged with a number of burglary and theft-related offences.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Ringwood Magistrates Court on 31 January.
A 1998 Kuala Lumpur Commonwealth Games gold medal and a 2000 Sydney Olympic Games bronze medal are still outstanding.
These items are of significant sentimental value to the victim and investigators are urging anyone who may have information relating to the whereabouts of the two missing medals to come forward.
