Victoria Charges Ahead With Electric Motorcycle Training

VIC Premier

The Allan Labor Government is driving new skills for the growing electric vehicle industry with an Australian-first course.

Minister for Skills and TAFE Gayle Tierney today announced that Kangan Institute TAFE will permanently offer electric motorcycle training for technicians looking to upskill.

The program has been designed to give them the practical skills needed to safely manage high-voltage systems used in electric motorcycles. It will also cover key safety features and procedures to ensure participants are confident and well-prepared to work on the latest technology.

Kangan Institute TAFE has built the program on its existing Battery Electric Vehicle Inspection and Servicing program. With demand for electric cars and motorcycles increasing, equipping technicians with the skills to safely service electric motorcycles will be increasingly important.

Savic Motorcycles supported the initiative as a key industry partner, providing electric motorcycles for training and contributing valuable expertise to the program.

With more than 80 Free TAFE qualifications and short courses on offer across Victoria, Free TAFE has been a gamechanger for Victorians.

The Labor Government is making sure Victorians can get the skills they need for good, stable jobs now and into the future.
