John Pick Park – Shade Sail Installation

From Tuesday 13 May to Tuesday 20 May 2025, parts of John Pick Park will be temporarily closed while new shade sails poles are installed over the cable way and playground areas. This work will provide extra comfort and sun protection for families using the space.

A second short closure will be needed in the coming weeks to install the shade sails themselves. Council will share dates as soon as they are confirmed.

Maps showing the work areas at both the western and eastern ends of the park are available in the image gallery to the right.

All Abilities Playground – Maintenance Works

The All Abilities Playground at Victoria Park Lake will be closed for two weeks from Monday 19 May 2025, while Council completes routine maintenance works.

During this time, both the playground and internal public toilets will be closed. Works are expected to be finished by 5pm on Monday 2 June, weather permitting.

These maintenance works are part of Council's annual renewals program, which helps keep our playgrounds safe, well-maintained and looking their best.

Council understands these closures may be inconvenient but notes they are neccessary to keep our parks in top condition.

Council thanks the community for their patience and understanding while we carry out these important works.
