Victorian five-day lockdown: what you need to know

From 11.59pm tonight, all of Victoria (including the City of Yarra) will enter a five-day lockdown to respond to recent cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the community.

The short lockdown was announced by the Victorian Government this afternoon.

During this time, you must follow Stage 4 restrictions, which were in place late last year:

  • Stay at home – unless shopping for essential goods and services, giving care, essential work or exercise (up to two hours). You must stay within 5km of your home.
  • Wear a mask when leaving your house – both indoors and outdoors
  • Work from home, if you can.

You can find the Premier's announcement and a list of restrictions and essential workers at the Victorian Government's website.

There are changes to our services

All Yarra Council customer service centres and facilities, like our libraries and leisure centres, will be closed from 5.30pm tonight until further notice.

Essential services, including waste and recycling collection, will continue as normal. Playgrounds and childcare will remain open during this time.

We'll be sure to keep you updated if anything changes.
