The Allan Labor Government is ensuring Victorian students have access to the outstanding learning environments they deserve by funding more small-scale upgrades to schools across the state.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Education Ben Carroll today announced the 43 successful schools that will share in $13.8 million for a range of small-scale refurbishments, such as bathroom, playground and sporting oval upgrades through the Capital Works Fund.
The fund supports projects that upgrade the condition, character or inclusiveness of Victorian schools.
Campbellfield Heights Primary School will receive $499,433 to refurbish the school's student toilets to make them more pleasant and improve cleanliness and hygiene.
Jamieson Primary School, near Mansfield, will receive $49,652, towards the cost of refurbishing the school's oval, including goal posts, and Belmore School, in Balwyn, will get $18,697 for a new bike and equipment shed.
The inclusion stream targets projects that can help make a difference in meeting the educational and social needs of all students, including those with disabilities or additional requirements. This covers inclusive playgrounds as well as inclusive indoor and outdoor inclusive learning areas.
Fairhills High School, in Ferntree Gully, will be granted $299,980 for a new inclusive outdoor area that includes a student courtyard for Year 7 and 8 students, new drinking taps and landscaping works.
The Victorian Budget 2025/26 includes an extra $25 million for the fund, helping more schools deliver essential works including $9.2 million for toilet upgrades at 21 schools across the state.
Since 2024, 122 schools have gained grants from the $50 million invested in the Capital Works Fund.
The Labor Government has invested more than $18.5 billion to build new schools and upgrade more than 2,300 existing ones - supporting more than 30,000 jobs in construction and related industries.
