Property Council of Australia Victorian Executive Director Cath Evans said the figures should be a reminder that Victoria cannot afford to risk further investment and job creation by implementing the unnecessary WFH Bill.
"These figures show there is no room for complacency. While the labour market may be holding up, Victoria is still lagging the rest of the country, and the government needs to be doing everything it can to attract investment and support jobs.
"That's why we are urging the Premier to withdraw the WFH Bill - to give the business community confidence that the government is making policies that support growth and investment.
"Victorians already have access to flexible working arrangements under the existing Federal workplace relations framework. We should be making it easier for businesses to employ people and invest, not introducing new barriers and cost that could make it harder.
"The answer is not more regulation for businesses. The answer is policies that give businesses the confidence to invest, grow and employ more Victorians.
"Victoria is competing for capital with every other state and every other market. If we want to create jobs, we need to make Victoria a place where businesses want to invest."
Ms Evans said the Government should prioritise measures that improve Victoria's competitiveness and reduce unnecessary costs on businesses.
"We need to be pulling every lever available to support investment and job creation. That means addressing the costs and taxes that are holding investment back, getting major projects moving and ensuring Victoria is competitive with other states."
