Victoria will mark a milestone in its relationship with First Peoples, with a landmark event celebrating the official commencement of Treaty.
The Victorian Government and the First Peoples' Assembly of Victoria are inviting all Victorians to come together on Friday, 12 December at John Cain Arena for a special ceremony and public concert featuring music, dance and cultural performances.
The Treaty Authority will formally lodge the Treaty on its database, symbolising the start of a renewed relationship built on respect, truth and shared responsibility between First Peoples and the Victorian Government.
Originally planned for Fed Square, the event has been moved to John Cain Arena to ensure more Victorians can attend and be part of this historic occasion.
The public event will feature some of Australia's most iconic artists including:
- Alice Skye
- Baker Boy
- Briggs
- Deborah Cheetham Fraillon
- Missy Higgins
- Uncle Kutcha Edwards
- Yothu Yindi
Doors for the event will open from 5:00pm.
