The Geographical Names Board (GNB) is seeking community feedback on a proposal by Lake Macquarie City Council to amend the locality boundaries between Wyee and Wyee Point.

The proposal aims to have all properties facing Government Road within the suburb of Wyee Point and properties with access off Ruttleys Road to be within the suburb of Wyee.

Chair of the Geographical Names Board Narelle Underwood said the GNB is encouraging community comment before it considers the proposal.

Residents of Wyee and Wyee Point are encouraged to view the proposal on the GNB website, where they can also make a submission on the proposed changes.

Written submissions on the proposed changes can also be mailed to: Secretary, Geographical Names Board, 346 Panorama Ave, Bathurst, NSW 2795.

The closing date for submissions is 12 January 2024.

Quotes to be attributed to Geographical Names Board Chair Narelle Underwood:

"We want to make sure everyone has an opportunity to provide their feedback on the proposed boundary amendments."
