The development of a Western Australian Sheep Industry Strategy: WA Roadmap to 2028 responds directly to stakeholder calls for a clear, credible pathway to guide investment and decision making as the sector transitions to the end of live sheep exports by sea from 1 May 2028. The WA Roadmap to 2028 will be launched in early June 2026.
To support this work, the WA Roadmap to 2028: Economic Analysis is now available on The Future Flock website and underpins the economic foundation for the WA Roadmap. The findings provide analysis of potential supply chain interventions which can enable sustainable flock growth and improved outcomes across the value chain.
