Police are currently undertaking a search of the Waikato River in Hamilton where a person is suspected to have entered the river.
Police first received a report at 1.30am near Swarbrick Landing off River Road.
Search and Rescue boats and a Police helicopter have been assisting with the search.
Police will have an ongoing presence on the river and in the area.
Public on the river today are asked to keep an eye out for any items of interest and to contact Police if they see anything.
Police will release more information as it comes to hand.
