Wanted Central Coast woman arrested, additional charges laid

A woman wanted on two outstanding warrants has been arrested and will face court today charged after allegedly vandalising police vehicles on the Central Coast.

Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District commenced an investigation to locate a 26-year-old woman wanted on an arrest warrant for traffic offences and a return to prison warrant for firearms and weapons offences.

Following extensive inquiries, the woman was arrested at a home in Kildare Road, Bensville, about 7pm yesterday (Thursday 26 December 2019).

Officers also executed a search warrant at the property, where they located prohibited drugs, a knuckle duster, and a knife. These items were seized to undergo forensic examination.

The 26-year-old woman was taken to Gosford Police Station, where she was charged with the outstanding warrants and 16 other offences, including:

  • assault occasioning actual bodily harm,
  • four counts of destroy or damage property,
  • use carriage service to threaten serious harm,
  • drive motor vehicle during disqualification period,
  • not keep left of centre two-way road,
  • Learner/P1/P2 driver not wear seatbelt properly adjusted,
  • Learner/P1/P2 driver passengers (over 16) not wear seatbelts,
  • negligent driving,
  • two counts of possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, and
  • three counts of possess prohibited drug.

Police will allege in court that the woman assaulted another woman, 35, in Wyoming in October 2019 before sending her threatening messages via social media.

It will also be alleged that the 26-year-old woman vandalised police vehicles on Wednesday (25 December 2019).

She was refused bail to appear at Wyong Local Court today (Friday 27 December 2019).
