Wanted man charged over participation in organised criminal group

One of three men – wanted by police over his alleged participation in organised criminal groups in Sydney's south-west – has been arrested and charged overnight.

Earlier this month, detectives from the State Crime Command's Criminal Groups Squad issued an appeal for public assistance to locate to three men who were wanted on outstanding arrest warrants.

Following extensive inquiries, and assistance from the Australian Federal Police, Australian Border Force and the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission, a 25-year-old man was arrested at Parramatta Police Station about 6.45pm yesterday (Wednesday 29 December 2021).

The man was charged with two counts of knowingly direct activities of criminal group, participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, and deal with property proceeds of crime.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Thursday 30 December 2021).

Inquiries to locate the other men continue.
