Wanted Queensland man charged over Brisbane murders

NSW Police Force Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man with an interstate warrant for two murders.

Acting on information, officers from Hornsby Highway Patrol stopped a Toyota Rav4 travelling south on the M1 at Berowra, about 6.30pm yesterday (Sunday 17 May 2020).

A 31-year-old Queensland man was arrested without incident and taken to Hornsby Police Station.

Homicide Squad detectives charged the man by virtue of a Queensland arrest warrant for two counts of murder and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

The car was seized and will undergo forensic examination.

The man was refused bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court via AVL today (Monday 18 May 2020).

Queensland Police detectives are expected to travel to NSW where they will apply for the man's extradition.
