Warrnambool and Geelong line works in October

Vic Department of Transport

Coaches will replace trains on the Warrnambool and Geelong lines this month, while crews work on upgrades to the Warrnambool line and Waurn Ponds Station.

Coaches will replace trains between Warrnambool and Geelong, and buses will replace trains between Waurn Ponds and Marshall from 9 October to 17 October.

During this time, new signalling infrastructure will be installed between Winchelsea and Warrnambool, as part of the Warrnambool Line Upgrade.

Work will also continue on the Waurn Ponds Station Upgrade with crews focussing their efforts on the new forecourt, drop-off zone and secure bike storage facility, to make it quicker and easier for the community to access the station by car or bike.

Culvert works will be delivered, allowing construction to start on the new second track between Waurn Ponds and South Geelong.

Works are continuing safely with strict COVIDSafe plans in place.
