Water Operations assist alcohol and drug testing, South Australia

Today, Friday 15 March 2019 officers from the Police Water Operations Unit supported PIRSA Fisheries Officers conducting a compliance operation in waters off Port Lincoln from the Fisheries Patrol Vessel 'Southern Ranger'.

Water Operations Unit tested 25 people on commercial vessels for alcohol and drugs and are pleased to report no positive results were returned!

All commercial vessels were involved in the pilchard/sardine catch fishery, prawn fishery and tuna feed fishery.

Water Operations Unit members also tested one recreational boat operator and as a result a 45-year-old man allegedly tested positive for cannabis.
