Weak tree to be removed near Horseshoe Bay playground

A sick tree next to Horseshoe Bay playground in South West Rocks is scheduled for removal as it presents a safety risk.

The tree is weak and deteriorating due to a fungal infection and Kempsey Shire Council will remove the tree on Tuesday 28 February, weather permitting.

Workers will be on-site using specialist equipment from 6:30 am until 4:00 pm. Traffic control will be in place to direct motorists and pedestrians around the area.

As the removal takes place, part of Horseshoe Bay playground will be closed.

A suitable native tree will replace the removed tree.
