Weapons seized in Coburg

A man has been charged following a search warrant in Coburg that uncovered illegal firearms.

The warrant was executed at a property on Gaffney Street on 26 January following an ongoing investigation.

The Illicit Firearms Squad seized two illegally manufactured sub machine guns and various firearms parts as well as a 3D printer.

A 43-year-old man was arrested and has been charged with

• 1 x Possess Trafficable Quantity of Unregistered Firearms

• 2 x Manufacture Handgun without Licence

• 2 x Possess Equipment Manufacture Firearms

He has been bailed to appear at the Broadmeadows Magistrates Court on 5 July.

The Illicit Firearms Squad along with partner law enforcement agencies is tasked to disrupt, prevent and target offences relating to the manufacture, importation and trafficking of illicit firearms
