Weapons seized in Notting Hill

A man has been charged following an incident in Blackburn North where it's alleged a firearm was produced on 29 December.

Search warrants were executed at an address on Blackburn Road in Notting Hill on 30 December with the assistance of the Special Operations Group.

The 24-year-old man was arrested after attempting to leave the scene.

Police searched the property and seized an alleged traffickable amount of drugs and a large amount of cash.

Police also located four firearms including an M16, sawn-off shotgun and a bolt-action rifle.

The Notting Hill man was charged with firearms and drug offences and has been remanded in custody to appear in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 16 January.
