Weapons Seizure at Gold Coast

Yesterday officers from the Gold Coast Major and Organised Crime Squad executed a search warrant at a Labrador residence, locating and seizing homemade weapons, methylamphetamine, MDMA, GHB, cannabis, prescription drugs and a small quantity of cash.

Police arrested a 47-year-old man for unlawfully possessing weapons, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing the proceeds of crime. A total of six persons were charged with 15 offences.

The man will re-appear in the Southport Magistrate Court on January 13.

"Homemade weapons pose a significant risk to both the community and to those involved in the manufacture, possession and use of such weapons. The seizure of unlawful weapons remains a key focus for the Gold Coast Major and Organised Crime Squad," Detective Senior Sergeant Ian Galpin said.
