A significant deepening trough throughout Queensland is moving eastwards, bringing showers with potential moderate to heavy rainfall and severe thunderstorms. Further south, a high in the Tasman Sea extends a ridge into south-eastern parts of the country, bringing frosty starts and settled weather. Out west, dry north-easterly winds are starting to build some heat through the south-west.
Across Queensland, scattered showers and storms are expected through the north-west, extending into eastern and southern parts. Showers will tend towards areas of rain across central and south-eastern districts, with a risk of severe thunderstorms about the Capricornia, Wide Bay-Burnett, and adjacent land areas that could bring heavy rainfall.
