Weekly Weather: Eastern Showers, Frosty SE, Fine Elsewhere

BOM
G'day from the Bureau for Sunday the 5th of July.

And after a wet week for much of south-eastern Australia bringing soaking rain, but also some flooding, this week will be very different as a large high-pressure system brings cold frosty mornings and mostly sunny days to much of the country, though a few areas will see showers this week.

Today will be cool to cold with widespread cloud through inland Australia but mostly sunny elsewhere, the only wet weather will be a few light showers on the New South Wales coast, inland parts of Queensland and also developing in south-west parts of WA with a cold front.

Monday will see a cold frosty start to the south-east but then a mostly sunny day, the only wet weather will be again across coastal parts of New South Wales and Queensland in a moist onshore flow, and across inland parts of WA.

Showers will continue across much of eastern Australia on Tuesday, mainly east of the ranges and across parts of inland WA and SA. Elsewhere, though, will continue to be dry, cool, with morning frosts.

Wednesday will see showers and light patchy rain spread across inland parts of South Australia and the southern NT, with showers continuing also about the New South Wales and Queensland coast. Dry, cool and mostly sunny elsewhere.

Showers will continue across much of South Australia and coastal parts of New South Wales and Queensland on Thursday as well as develop through parts of south-west WA with a cold front. While elsewhere will continue that cold, partly cloudy weather.

Friday will see a cold front approach south-eastern Australia as widespread cloud and light showers, spread across much of the south-east inland, with showers also continuing on the New South Wales and the Queensland coast, with dry conditions elsewhere.

And that's it for our weekly wrap. Stay up to date with the latest forecasts and warnings on our website and we'll see you again next Sunday.
