Welcoming First Year Constables At Townsville

Townsville District has welcomed 18 new First Year Constables (FYC).

The FYCs are part of a cohort of 130 recruits who were inducted into the Queensland Police Service at the Oxley academy on June 12.

Inspector Jason Brosnan welcomed the new officers to Townsville District.

"We are pleased and proud to welcome 18 men and women to serve the district as first year constables.

"Policing is an important and rewarding career that offers a range of specialist options after these officers finish their three years as constables.

"During their first year, the officers will be supported by a mentor and attend a range of calls for service and apply their training while developing on-the-job skills.

"Policing really is a career like no other," Insp Brosnan said.

The six female and 12 male FYCs will be initially deployed to the following stations in Townsville District:

Deeragun Station 1

Stuart Station 2

Townsville Station 5

Kirwan Station 4

Mundingburra Station 2

Charter Towers 2

Ayr 2
