Well done to Tasmania's newest police recruits

Tasmania Police's numbers are growing again with the addition of 32 constables joining the ranks after two police recruit courses graduated from the Tasmania Police Academy today.

The graduating cohort of new constables includes 10 females and 12 men, while a further 10 experienced constables graduated from the Accelerated Training Program.

These new officers will now put their rigorous training into action and begin serving the Tasmanian community in time for the busy Christmas and New Year period.

The officers will be stationed across the state including:

  • 7 in Hobart;
  • 4 in Bridgewater;
  • 6 at Launceston;
  • 2 at George Town;
  • 1 at Glenorchy;
  • 1 at Bellerive;
  • 6 at Burnie; and
  • 5 at Devonport.

Today's graduation brings the total number of Tasmania Police officers to 1312 as part of the Government's commitment to boosting Tasmania Police resources and keeping Tasmanians safe.

I would like to congratulate the graduates and wish them well as they embark on their new careers.
