Western Australia coronovirus update as at 22 January

The Department of Health has today reported two new cases of COVID-19 in Western Australia, bringing the State's total to 890.

WA Health is monitoring 12 active cases and 869 people have recovered from the virus in WA.

There have been 707,133 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those tested, 111,045 were from regional WA.

Yesterday 1,446 people presented to WA Health-managed COVID clinics – 1,434 were assessed and 1,431 swabbed.

To date eleven cases of variant strains have been detected. Of these cases, nine are the B.1.1.7 strain and two are the B.1.351 variant strain.
