Western Australia coronovirus update as at 6 February 2021

The Department of Health has reported no new cases of COVID-19 overnight.

The State's total number of confirmed cases stands at 907.

Contact tracing around case #903 has identified 508 close and casual contacts. Most have now returned negative results and WA Health is following up with those contacts who are still waiting on test results.

Yesterday 8,477 people were tested at COVID clinics across the State, including 368 at the Maylands pop up clinic. The Maylands clinic is now closed.

Anyone who is symptomatic should get a COVID-19 test immediately. This applies to those who recently received negative test results – if symptoms develop, get retested.

WA Health is monitoring 11 active cases of COVID-19 – all in hotel quarantine.

To date, 887 people have recovered from the virus in WA.

To date, 19 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia (15 B.1.1.7 strain and 4 B.1.351 strain).
