Western Australia coronovirus update as at 7 February 2021

The Department of Health has reported no new cases of COVID-19 overnight.

The State's total number of confirmed cases remains at 907.

Contact tracing around case #903 has identified 528 close and casual contacts. 522 have now returned negative results and WA Health is following up with those 6 contacts who are still waiting on test results.

Anyone who is symptomatic should get a COVID-19 test immediately. This includes any one who has recently received negative test results – if symptoms develop it is important get retested.

To date, 19 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia (15 B.1.1.7 strain and 4 B.1.351 strain).

Yesterday 1,009 people were tested at COVID clinics across the State, 994 were assessed and 933 were swabbed.
