Western Australia Covid update as at 17 March 2023

WA Health is reporting a total of 2,625 new cases in the past week to 4pm yesterday (16 March 2023). As of 4pm yesterday, there were 1,568 active cases in Western Australia.

As at 4pm yesterday, there were a total of 59 people with COVID-19 in hospital, with one in ICU.

Sadly, this week's report to 4pm yesterday includes 29 deaths*, dating back to 2 April 2022, which were reported to WA Health in the past week, aged from 35 to 104 years.

Total PCR tests for the timeframe were 3,622.

Total positive PCR tests for the timeframe were 231. Total positive rapid antigen tests (RATs) in this period were 2,390.

WA has recorded 1,298,606 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Anyone experiencing symptoms is strongly encouraged to stay home if they're unwell, and until symptoms have resolved.
