From walking the dog, visiting the beach or foreshore, using local parks and public spaces, to reporting litter, dumped rubbish or local law concerns - community safety and animal management services are part of everyday life on the Peninsula.
We are inviting residents, businesses, property owners, volunteers and visitors to share their experiences and help shape how these services are delivered in the future.
A community survey has been launched as part of a review of community safety and animal management services. The Shire wants to understand what matters most to you, what you expect from Council, the issues you are seeing now, and where future effort should be focused.
These services help support safe, welcoming and liveable places by encouraging responsible pet ownership, caring for shared public spaces, responding to litter and dumped rubbish, managing permits and local law compliance, and balancing education with enforcement.
We want to hear from residents, businesses and visitors. The survey gives people an opportunity to comment on the issues that matter to them.
Mayor Stephen Batty said the review is an opportunity for people with different experiences to tell Council what matters most to them.
"We want to hear about the issues people are noticing in their neighbourhoods and public places, what they expect from Council and where they believe our effort should be focused," Cr Batty said.
"Whether you live, work, volunteer, own a business or property, or regularly visit the Peninsula, your experience can help us understand community priorities and plan services for the future."
The survey asks about the balance between education and enforcement, service visibility, seasonal pressures and priorities for the next three to five years.
The survey is open until Sunday 29 November. It takes around 5-7 minutes to complete.
Complete the survey at Community Safety and Animal Management Service Review.
Feedback will be considered alongside stakeholder consultation, staff engagement, service data, benchmarking and other research to inform the service review.
