What's on in April for pets

April is packed with activities for Bayside's pets and their owners, with increased beach access and a fabulous Pets Day Out happening at Cheltenham Park on 10 April (also when pet registration is due).

Here's a round-up of the latest pet news:

Back on the beach!

Winter dog restrictions are in effect from 1 April until 31 October, with greater off-leash access for our four-legged friends on beach and foreshore areas.

Please visit bayside.vic.gov.au/walkies before letting your dog off-leash, to ensure you're in an off-leash area. Remember all dogs must be under effective control when being exercised in an on-leash and off-leash area.

Sports kick off again

As sports return for the winter season, if you're exercising on an off-leash sportsground, please ensure your dog is on leash within 20m of the organised sporting event or training and you pick up all the poop! Check out the seasonal schedule of sportsground allocation times to help plan your visits to off-leash sportsgrounds around training and game times. If you'd like time out from the field, head over to a local beach as dogs have increased access during the winter months.
