White Street, Kilmore, to receive upgrades

Important upgrade works which will improve Kilmore's accessibility and safety on White Street will begin on Monday 9 March.

White Street, between Rutledge Street and Tootle Street, will be widened to include a brand-new shared footpath for people to walk or ride along and additional car spaces for vehicles. Drainage pits will be installed to improve drainage in the area, while the existing kerb and channel will be replaced.

The works will be managed by Mitchell Shire Council and are expected to be completed by the end of June, weather permitting.

White Street was identified as a priority in the Kilmore Structure Plan. Council carried out phase one of the project between Lumsden and Allen Street in 2019.

While there may be some minor delays, local traffic will still be able to move through the area. Council reminds drivers to adhere to the instructions of traffic management for your safety and the safety of road workers.

The Federal Government's Roads to Recovery program funded $645,000 of the project. Mitchell Shire Council contributed $285,000 to the upgrades.
