Wildfire Respiratory Devices survey

Responses to the survey will inform a joint, standard approach to wildfire respiratory protection with the goal of meeting the needs of firefighters and ensuring firefighting activities are conducted in the safest, most efficient and effective way possible.

In recent years, wildfire responders from all fire agencies, including CFA and DELWP, have asked for investigation into a wider range of Wildfire Respiratory Devices to determine suitability and potential higher levels of respiratory protection at wildfires.

The survey is the first step in this process, providing the opportunity for members to share their views and experiences about the respiratory devices currently in use.

Any changes to the current respiratory devices will be based on thorough scientific and medical investigation in real life, wildfire conditions.

Take the survey. The survey is confidential and closes Monday 10 May.

This survey is being conducted in partnership with Forest Fire Management Victoria as part of the joint Safer Together program with the intention of developing a consistent approach to issues around the selection, training, use and supply of wildfire respiratory devices.

If you are interested in participating in the survey but are unable to access it via the online link, then please contact your District Office prior to the scheduled end date and they'll provide alternative options and assistance.
