Will Labor or Greens come out of hiding today?

Nic Street,Liberal Member for Franklin

Labor and Greens are in hiding together, refusing to front the media in the first week back in Parliament.

The Tasmanian Liberal Government has delivered an update on its plan to secure Tasmania's future and with one of the strongest economies in the nation, we have outlined a raft of aspirational initiatives to maintain this performance for years to come. Yet Labor and the Greens are nowhere to be seen.

It is hardly a surprise given the Labor leader-in-name-only offered one of the most lacklustre and negative State of the State reply speeches in Tasmania's history, even conceding the party she has led to two election losses "was not at its best" last year.

Are the tinfoil hat-wearing Greens avoiding the embarrassment of having no media turn up to listen to them peddle more fear and undermine respected Public Health advice that Tasmanians know has kept them safe during the pandemic?

On the final day of the first week back in Parliament will Labor and the Greens unite to front the media, or remain in hiding?

Either way, the Government is getting on with the job and is committed to continuing to deliver the initiatives that make a difference to Tasmanians such as record investment in health, helping more people into homes and infrastructure to strengthen community outcomes for years to come.
