Locals are invited to dig in and give back to nature at Warners Park on Sunday 27 July, as part of National Tree Day 2025.
Organised by Willoughby City Council, the event will run from 10am to 2pm and is a great chance for residents of all ages to roll up their sleeves, connect with their community and help the local environment thrive.
Started by Planet Ark in 1996, National Tree Day has grown into Australia's largest community tree planting and nature care event. More than 28 million trees have been planted so far by Australians passionate about protecting their local environment.
"This is a great opportunity to get your hands dirty, connect with nature, and help boost local biodiversity," said Mayor Tanya Taylor. "Whether you're planting, collecting mulch, or just learning more about sustainable gardening, every small action adds up."
Enjoy a relaxed day outdoors with native planting, free gardening advice from Council staff, and a chance to collect complimentary mulch for your garden.
Participants are encouraged to register early to secure a spot. Please wear sturdy outdoor clothing, bring your own water, and check in at the registration table on arrival.
