Winchelsea Road Upgrade Boosts Growth Area Access

A major upgrade of Gladman Street in Winchelsea is taking shape.

Our Civil Operations crew has been working to widen and seal the previously unsealed road, as well as improving roadside drainage.

The project is part of our Winchelsea Infrastructure Plan, which identified that Gladman Street would be a key link from the Princes Highway to future growth in the east of the town.

Councillor Adrian Schonfelder said we are investing in Winchelsea's public assets such as roads, paths and drainage to meet the needs of a growing population.

"This is a big project that will improve the road significantly for all users," Cr Schonfelder said.

"Having Gladman Street as a sealed road will make it easier to access new residential areas, such as the estate being built at the moment on Austin Street.

"We appreciate the community's patience while the works are happening."

The upgraded road is expected to be open by the end of July.

The work has been funded through our annual Winchelsea Infrastructure Plan budget allocation and developer contributions.
