Windsor theft and assault

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a theft and assault in Windsor last month, Victoria Police say.

It is believed a man and a woman, described as in their mid 20s, attended the front of a store on Chapel Street in Windsor about 4.50pm on 16 March.

The female store attendant became aware of the pair who appeared to be taking items from a clothing rack near the shop’s entrance and putting it down the man’s pants.

The woman then entered the store but was asked to leave by the staff member.

Police have been told the woman threatened the store attendant before punching her in the arm.

The pair then left the store in an unknown direction.

The woman is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance with brown hair and a distinctive brassy blonde undertone underneath which at the time of the incident was in a ponytail.

She was wearing denim shorts and a grey jumper with horizontal stripes.

The man, who was wearing a white t-shirt and white shorts, is described as Caucasian in appearance with a shaved head.

Police have released images of a man and a woman who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
