Winners of 2021 Victorian Protecting Children Awards announced

DFFH

After a record-breaking number of submissions this year, the winners of the 2021 Victorian Protecting Children Awards have been announced.

At two online events yesterday, outstanding individuals and teams from across the child and families services sector were recognised for their work in protecting the wellbeing of children.

Beth Allen, who has recently retired from the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) has won this year's prestigious Robin Clark Leadership Award. This award honours the memory of Robin Dennis Clark (1936 - 2001) a visionary and leader who greatly influenced child and family related policy and practice in Victoria.

Beth's career-long contribution to child protection was recognised for championing evidence-based system-wide reforms. She pioneered placing the voices of clients at the centre of child protection - an approach now regarded as best practice, and pivotal to the Victorian Government's transformation of the child and family system through its Roadmap for Reform.

Across all award categories, 12 staff members or teams from DFFH were formally acknowledged for their efforts.

Congratulations to all winners and finalists.
