Witness appeal for Southern Cross station sexual assault

Detectives from the Transit Crime Investigation Unit are appealing for public assistance following the sexual assault of a female commuter on a train at Southern Cross railway station in April.

It is believed a female was approached by a man after he boarded a citybound train at Fawkner Railway station on Saturday,10 April at 1.04pm.

During the journey the man sexually assaulted the female, and subsequently followed her from the train at the Southern Cross railway station, where he sexually assaulted her for a second time.

The man left the scene in an unknown direction.

Detectives have released CCTV images of a man who they believe can assist with their enquiries.
