Witnesses to fatal crash sought - Eastwood

Investigators from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit are appealing for information about a fatal motor vehicle crash at Eastwood late last year.

About 5:10pm, Wednesday 13 November 2019, a white Toyota Hilux was travelling south on Blaxland Road and a grey Mazda 2 and a white Hyundai Accent were travelling north, when they collided near the intersection of Doomben Street.

The 63-year-old female driver and sole occupant of the Mazda died at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the Hilux, men both aged 28, were taken to Royal North Shore Hospital suffering various non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of a Hyundai, a 34-year-old woman, received minor injuries

A man was subsequently arrested and charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily, cause bodily harm by misconduct, negligent driving (occasioning death) and negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm).

He is due to appear at Hornsby Local Court at Parramatta Local Court on 16 January 2020.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have any information to contact the Crash Investigation Unit on 88821458 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Investigators are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen any of the three vehicles prior to the collision.
