The new Woden Interchange will open on Monday and will help move more than 10,000 Canberrans every day from the new facility on Callam Street.
Testing and safety checks have now been completed, allowing the interchange to safely transition to Canberra's newest public transport facility.
Ian McGlinn, Executive Branch Manager, Bus Operations Transport Canberra, said the opening of the interchange delivers a modern, accessible and future-ready transport hub for Canberra's south.
"The new Woden Interchange is now fully operational and ready to service customers from Monday," Mr McGlinn said.
Customers are advised that while services continue to operate at the same times, buses now depart from new platforms, reflecting the larger layout and increased number of platforms at the new interchange.
"We encourage people to plan ahead, check platform information and allow extra time, particularly during the first few days of operation. Customer service staff will be on site to assist commuters." Mr McGlinn said.
With the new interchange now open, the temporary interchange will be decommissioned, with works commencing after the operational transition. These works will take place over several months and include restoring parking off Callam Street and completing landscaping around Woden Town Park.
Final minor road works will also be undertaken to enable the Bowes Street and Bradley Street shared zone to open to vehicle traffic, restoring Bowes Street East to one-way traffic and completing connectivity across the CIT Woden Campus precinct.
The new interchange has been designed to be future-proofed, including space for the future light rail terminus. The light rail platforms will be used for R4 and R5 Rapid bus services in the meantime.
Updated maps, platform information and travel details are available on the Transport Canberra website, and passengers can plan their journey using the MyWay+ app and journey planner.
